Police further said that when Arif Wazir's vehicle was fired upon, the people present at the spot also opened fire on the attacker's vehicle.

He said several bullets hit the attacker's vehicle but he managed to escape.

He said that police had spread all over Wana and every vehicle in Waziristan was being searched and a case had been registered against unknown persons.

He said that the assailant's vehicle was retaliated against, which made it possible for the police to find the vehicle soon.

However, police did not know if anyone in the vehicle was killed or injured in the retaliatory firing.
