The Pakistan Army has termed the
allegations made by a senior Indian general as 'baseless and misleading',
saying that Pakistan is sending Corona virus-affected people to Kashmir and
collecting them near the border.
Lt Gen BS Raju, commander of the
15th Corps of the Indian Army stationed in Srinagar, made the allegations in an
interview to BBC Hindi.
The Pakistan Army's public
relations department responded to the interview in the form of three tweets on
social media on Tuesday night.
The ISPR on Twitter termed the
allegations as baseless, saying "India is trying to divert local and
global attention from the unresolved conflict (in Kashmir) under the plan."
The ISPR said in its statement that Pakistan's allegations of
sending Covid victims to India's infrastructure in Kashmir are
"misleading".
According to the ISPR,
"Pakistan has always given the UN Military Observers (UNMOGIP) ample
access to inspect ceasefire violations (but also) we will continue to do so in
a very transparent manner in the future."
The ISPR's tweet states that the
Indian leadership should focus its attention on internal disturbances, not only
because of the mismanagement of the code, but also because of the ongoing
tragedy in India-administered Kashmir over the years.
Indian general accused of Pakistan
The Indian general said in
response to a question from the BBC that Pakistan's attitude towards deployment
did not show any significant change in the way, but they are seeing that
Pakistan is being infiltrated and 'Pakistan is sending a large number of
victims of Covid 19' to Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Lieutenant General BS Raju had
alleged that "in this period of Covid 19, Pakistan's behavior has not
changed and that such activities as opposed to infiltration and ceasefire in
the country are very It's a shame. " He said that Pakistan needs to
change its attitude and 'think realistically' so that both of us can work in
our own way against Covid 19.
In his interview, General Raju also alleged that 'Pakistan is
taking the risk of placing trained fighters in their launch pads in closed
areas near the Line of Control'.
He said, therefore, those who
came across the border may be carriers of the virus and hence they will also
take a cautious approach in dealing with the bodies of militants in the future.
When he was asked to explain his
allegation, he said that he was informed that the victims of Covid 19 in Punjab (Pakistan) were
being sent to 'remote areas where the population is relatively low and
quarantine. The centers are set up in such areas. '
General Raju had also said that due to Covid 19, there were challenges in
his operation and deployment and he had to fight on two fronts and for which he
was ready. He said that at present there is no case of Covid 19 in his command zone.
He further stated that 50% of the
troops under his command are cut off from road infrastructure and they are in
the 'mode' of self-sustaining or carrying their own loads and hence from
'deploying their troops on the Line of Control'. Satisfied because they have no
contact with the technical language and the only danger is with those who will
come from outside. '
