Pak PM, Interior Minister, Top Army Man Behind Assassination Bid, Says Former Imran Khan Aide: EXCLUSIVE


<p><strong>New Delhi:&nbsp;</strong>Raoof Hassan, who served as a special advisor to former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, in a conversation with ABP News claimed that PM Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Major General Faisal (Naseer) hatched a conspiracy to kill the PTI chief. The minister demanded that the Punjab government set up a joint investigation team of senior officers to probe the incident.</p> <p>Former Pakistan PM <a title="Imran Khan" href="https://ift.tt/DbAoZqg" data-type="interlinkingkeywords">Imran Khan</a>, 70, sustained a bullet injury on his leg when a gunman opened fire on the container-mounted-truck carrying him during his protest march, killing one person. The PTI chairperson was reported to be out of danger.</p> <p>In a statement, the Punjab police said that seven people were injured and one person was killed during the attack. It added that a suspect has been arrested.</p> <p>Geo TV reported that the attacker was identified as Naved. The attacker said to be in his early 20s was wearing a salwar-kameez and had been walking along the container and fired from the left side, the channel stated.</p> <p>The suspect caught by police has said that he wanted to kill Khan because &ldquo;he was misleading the public.&rdquo; "He (Khan) was misleading the people and I could not bear watching it so I&hellip; attempted to kill him,&rdquo; he said in a video confession.</p> <p>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and directed the Interior Minister to present an immediate report on the incident.</p> <p>"I pray for the recovery and health of PTI chairman &amp; other injured people. Federal government will extend all support necessary to Punjab govt for security &amp; investigation.
