No-Confidence Motion Against Pak PM Imran Khan To Be Tabled Today In National Assembly


<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>New Delhi: </strong>The no-confidence motion against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to be tabled today in the Pakistan National Assembly. If the speaker allows, the no-confidence vote will be conducted on April 4, reported Pakistani news agency Dawn.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to Dawn, the Pak National Assembly rules say that from the day the resolution is moved, it &ldquo;shall not be voted upon before the expiry of three days, or later than seven days.&rdquo;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While PM Imran Khan held a public meeting on Sunday trying to garner public support for himself, opposition leaders also said that they will take to the streets if the no-trust motion was not tabled.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) president and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fal chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the supporters of PDM will take to the streets Monday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Meanwhile, Pakistan National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser is also being criticised by the opposition for working in a manner that supports Imran Khan as the delay in the no-confidence motion is being seen as an attempt to buy more time to gather support for PM Khan.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pakistan capital Islamabad will witness back-to-back protests by supporters of the current government and the opposition parties, which have now gathered the support of Imran Khan&rsquo;s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf&rsquo;s (PTI) allies.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Meanwhile, in order to secure himself from being ousted by the no-confidence vote PM Imran Khan will also table bill for the formation of south Punjab Province which was a part of his manifesto during the 2018 elections.&nbsp;</span></p>
