
<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nobel laureate and education activist Malala Yousafzai announced her wedding onsocial media Monday night. The 24-year-old tied the knot with Asser Malik and posted on Twitter photos of their nikah ceremony. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Asser Malik is an official at the Pakistan Cricket Board, according to media reports. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. She was shot in the head by the Pakistani Taliban for advocating girls’ education in her native region of Mingora in Swat Valley of northern Pakistan. Following the attacks, she left her native place and settled in Birmingham. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It was then that she was globally recognised as an activist for girls’ education. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2017, along with India's Kailash Satyarthi, for her contribution towards promotion for education of children and girls in particular. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Following her Monday tweet, she has been flooded with good wishes and congratulatory messages on social media.
