Youngest Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai Ties Knot In Birmingham, Wishes Pour In From All Quarters

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nobel laureate and education activist Malala Yousafzai announced her wedding onsocial media Monday night. The 24-year-old tied the knot with Asser Malik and posted on Twitter photos of their nikah ceremony.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Asser Malik is an official at the Pakistan Cricket Board, according to media reports.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&ldquo;Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. She was shot in the head by the Pakistani Taliban for advocating girls&rsquo; education in her native region of Mingora in Swat Valley of northern Pakistan. Following the attacks, she left her native place and settled in Birmingham.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It was then that she was globally recognised as an activist for girls&rsquo; education. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2017, along with India's Kailash Satyarthi, for her contribution towards promotion for education of children and girls in particular.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Following her Monday tweet, she has been flooded with good wishes and congratulatory messages on social media.
