
<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>At least 10 guards were injured after a bomb-laden drone attacked Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi’s residence early on Sunday, TASS citing local media reported.</p> <p>The building in Iraqi capital Baghdad’s heavily guarded green zone was damaged in the attack, according to the Al Hadath television report, ANI reported.</p> <p><strong>READ</strong>: <strong><a href="https://ift.tt/3o7S5lq Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi Survives 'Assassination Attempt' After Drone Attack</a></strong></p> <p>The Al Arabiya TV channel earlier in the day reported that the Prime Minister was hospitalised with minor injuries after his residence was attacked by a bomb-laden unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).</p> <p>TASS further reported that the Prime Minister was taken to a safe place.</p> <p>The security measures, as per the publication, have been stepped up at all entrances to the green zone, where the foreign embassies and government buildings are located, post the attack.</p> <p>The situation in the area is “stable and under control”, Al Hadath quoted a statement by the Iraqi military as saying.</p> <p>The United States has strongly condemned the attack and offered all assistance to Iraq with the investigation into the matter.</p> <p>“We are relieved to learn the Prime Minister was unharmed,” US Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ</strong>: <strong><a href="https://ift.tt/3Hab5bN Court Acquits 6 Leaders Of Mumbai Terror Attack's Mastermind Hafiz Saeed's JuD</a></strong></p> <p>“This apparent act of terrorism, which we strongly condemn, was directed at the heart of the Iraqi state,” he added.</p> <p>Price further said the US is in close touch with the Iraqi security forces.</p>
