Multiple Explosions in Afghanistan's Jalalabad, Taliban Officials Among 3 Dead: Report


<p><strong>Jalalabad: </strong>At least three people, including Taliban officials, were killed and 20 others injured in multiple explosions in Afghanistan&rsquo;s Jalalabad city on Saturday.</p> <p>Two Taliban officials were reportedly among the dead in a series of three explosions while the injured comprised mostly civilians.</p> <p>The explosion, which took place in the capital of Afghanistan&rsquo;s Nangarhar province, was targeted at the Taliban vehicles.</p> <p><strong>READ</strong>: <strong><a href="https://ift.tt/2Xuatvz Millionaire Robert Durst Found Guilt For Murder Of Friend Susan Berman 21 Years Later</a></strong></p> <p>The roadside bomb exploded when a Taliban ranger struck it, the local officials in Nangarhar said, Tolo News reported.</p> <p>&ldquo;Local officials in Nangarhar province confirm that a roadside mine hit a Taliban forces vehicle on Saturday in Jalalabad&rsquo;s PD6. Nangarhar provincial hospital officials said around 20 wounded have been transferred to the hospital, most of whom are civilians,&rdquo; Tolo News tweeted.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/TOLOnews/status/1439142920414711813[/tw]</p> <p>At least two people were injured after a sticky bomb exploded in Kabul.</p> <p>The target of the Kabul bomb is not yet clear, but the Jalalabad landmine blast was targeted at the Taliban officials.</p> <p>None have yet claimed responsibility for the Jalalabad attack.</p> <p>The explosions take place at a time when the world is keeping a close eye on the developments in Afghanistan since the Taliban seized control of the country in mid-August.</p> <p>There have been several attacks, including a drone strike in Kabul during the United States pullout on August 29, in Afghanistan since then.</p> <p>The United States has, however, apologised for the drone strike that mistakenly killed 10 civilians, including children.</p> <p>US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the drone strike had killed a Mr Ahmadi, who worked for a non-profit called Nutrition and Education International.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ</strong>: <strong><a href="https://ift.tt/3tP6k0X To Scrap Three List System From Oct 4 To Only One, India Will Be No Longer In Red-List</a></strong></p> <p>&ldquo;We now know that there was no connection between Ahmadi and ISIS-Khorasan, that his activities on that day were completely harmless and not at all related to the imminent threat we believed we faced,&rdquo; Austin said in a statement, Reuters reported.</p> <p>&ldquo;We apologize, and we will endeavor to learn from this horrible mistake,&rdquo; he added.</p>
