<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>A Taliban spokesperson on Thursday shared a video of the group's members visiting a gurdwara in Kabul to assure Sikhs and Hindus of their safety in Afghanistan.</p> <p>In the video shared on the microblogging platform Twitter, the Taliban members can be seen visiting the gurdwara and later also talking to Sikhs who have taken refuge inside the premises.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <span style="color: #e03e2d;"><a style="color: #e03e2d;" title="" href="https://ift.tt/37THliX" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-toggle="tooltip" data-html="true" data-original-title="Story ID: 1477130">Taliban Urge Afghan Crowd Outside Kabul Airport To Return Home: Report</a></span></strong></p> <p>The visuals of the Taliban members visiting the gurdwara appeared in a report by AlJazeera.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/IeaOffice/status/1428065056869298182[/tw]</p> <p>In the tweet, the Taliban spokesperson claims that while people were afraid, they are now assured of their safety.</p> <p>The Arabic tweet translates to: "The life of Sikhs and Indians in Kabul. The head of their temples in Kabul: We are safe and secure and we do not feel any fear or anxiety. Before that, people were afraid and worried about their lives and money, and now there are no problems. We are assured".</p> <p>Earlier, the video was tweeted by Manjinder Singh Sirsa who is the president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and spokesperson of Punjab-based Shiromani Akali Party.</p> <p>"I am in constant touch with the President Gurdwara Committee, Kabul S. Gurnam Singh & Sangat taking refuge in Gurdwara Karte Parwan Sahib in Kabul. Even today, Taliban leaders came to Gurdwara Sahib and met the Hindus and Sikhs and assured them of their safety," he had written.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/mssirsa/status/1428032650262978560[/tw]</p> <p>In later tweets, he also wrote that he had a talk with officials in PMO India on the safety and safe evacuation of Sikhs and Hindus stuck in Afghanistan. "Their visas have been processed online & MEA is in touch with Sangat in Gurdwara Karte Parwan. 6 of them with Indian passports are being evacuated today," he wrote.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/mssirsa/status/1428253559741501447[/tw]</p> <p>"I am constantly communicating with Kabul Gurdwara Committee President S. Gurnam Singh and the Sangat taking refuge in Gurdwara Karte Parwan. They are coping with the situation well and are safe for the time being," he added.</p> <p>Previously, India on Monday committed to facilitating the repatriation of Afghan Sikh and Hindu communities who wish to leave the war-torn country.</p> <p>Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi while responding to media queries said, "We are in constant touch with the representatives of Afghan Sikh and Hindu communities and will facilitate repatriation to India of those who wish to leave Afghanistan", as quoted by news agency ANI.</p> <p>He had also said there are also a number of Afghans who have been India's partners and "we will stand by them".</p>
