For the first time, PIA was allowed to operate direct flights to the United States

For the first time in history, PIA has been allowed to operate direct flights from Pakistan to the United States, with 12 PIA flights to the US state of New York in the next few days.

These flights will bring back the bodies of Pakistanis stranded in the United States and those who died there.

Last week, Pakistan sought permission from the United States to operate special PIA flights to bring back Pakistanis stranded there due to the corona virus epidemic.

PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik also wrote a letter to the US Embassy in Islamabad.

It should be noted that before this, the US operation of PIA used to be cleared from the airports of Europe or Britain.

The flights were to the United States via London and Manchester in the United Kingdom, Paris in France, Shannon in Ireland and Barcelona in Spain.

According to the PIA spokesman, the permission for direct flights to the United States is a reflection of the country's improved security situation, government policy and PIA security measures. He said that PIA would operate relief flights to the United States where thousands of Pakistanis were waiting for PIA and PIA would also bring back the bodies of those who had died abroad without any compensation.

PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that the PIA operation would continue till the last Pakistani returned home.
